Over the years, our attorneys have represented hospitals and clinics in numerous and diverse cases. These cases vary in both size and scope, and include claims for death and personal injury that involve professional negligence claims against medical personnel such as registered nurses and nurse practitioners, medical technicians, as well as physicians who practice at our clients’ clinics and hospitals. To successfully defend these cases, it is essential that we have a working knowledge and understanding of the pertinent science and medical issues, with respect to the underlying treatment at issue, and also regarding the resultant damages (both real and claimed). We take considerable pride in our ability to proficiently represent our clients in a cost-effective manner in these cases, not only through our command of the factual and legal issues, but our ability to communicate with and represent the healthcare personnel who are often navigating the legal process for the first time. We also constantly strive to take advantage of the various protections the legal system provides to facilities in medical-malpractice litigation, including those that provide immunity to hospitals themselves with respect to the practice of medicine.

In addition to handling malpractice cases, we also have experience handling other litigation involving healthcare facilities. These include premises-liability cases, such as slip-and-falls and similar actions that invoke Colorado’s Premises Liability Statute. Our experience handling premises-liability cases, and not only for hospitals and clinics, allows us to successfully represent our clients in these cases to successful and cost-efficient conclusions.

We have also represented hospitals on numerous occasions for actions involving Department of Health issues, and other miscellaneous cases that arise against hospitals and their employees, including allegations of false imprisonment and the provision of treatment without proper consent. Our experience and familiarity with the relevant regulatory and statutory provisions at issue in these cases routinely enable our clients to be dismissed early on in the litigation process or to avoid a formal legal dispute entirely.
